Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery What Is The Effect Of A Pacemaker After Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery?

What is the effect of a pacemaker after aortic valve replacement surgery? - aortic valve replacement surgery

My father, 46 years old, underwent heart surgery on Wednesday and had his aortic valve replaced with a mechanical valve.

His heart has started is not new (awake) and is now being put in a pacemaker on Monday.

I really do not know what it all means. Is it normal? What are the risks? The doctors seem pretty relaxed about the procedure and assured us that there is nothing to fear.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Dad's heart is a muscular organ with four chambers specially designed to work efficiently, accurately and continuously throughout life. the muscles of his contract in a regular order and then pumps the blood through the body needs during spends to beat, as little energy as possible to everyone.

The contraction of the muscle fibers in the heart itself is determined by current flows through the heart in a certain way controlled by different pathwaysand a controlled rate.

The electric current that each heartbeat begins its origin in biological father is the pacemaker, the sinoatrial or SA node, located high in the upper right chamber of the heart or the right atrium. The speed at which the pacemaker discharges of Dad's natural electrical currents that determines the heart rate. This rate is influenced by nerve impulses and the level ofof certain hormones in the blood.

In adults at rest, the normal heart rate is typically 60 to 100 beats per minute. However, lower rates in young adults are possible, especially if in good shape. However, the heart rate is regarded by doctors as normal when the heart is too fast or irregularly, but when the electrical impulses travel through the abnormal way.

I agree with Popo: The best answer will come from the cardiologist caring for her father, you have to ask not to be afraid.

I do not know whether your father of the aortic valve has been replaced by a bacterial infection or a defect. If it needed a bacterial infection, then maybe electric and natural pacemaker of the heart damage and provide assistance. A good rule of thumb, if the doctor does not seem in distress, then relax and research, as you are. After replacing the valve surgery is high, and the pacemaker may only temporarily relieve the cardiac function. Your best answer will come from the cardiologist caring for her father, you have to ask not to be afraid. Write your questions down at home, so you your language is not specified, if the physician. They are generally very suitable for family issues.

Since his heart right, will help the pacemaker, a regular heartbeat for him. This is done by people with heart problems, joint and has suggested. We only know that you keep your regular heartbeat.
